About Me

My name is Caitlin Minges, and I am the owner of Fun Club.

Fun Club started in 2015 when I was planning a surprise party for my now husband. I was looking for balloons with our humor on then, couldn't find any, made some myself, and took off from there.

I was working full time as a vet tech at a company that was horrible to their employees, and never really thought I would have the option to do anything else. When people showed interest in my balloons at that fateful party, I began selling them on the side. When stores started showing interest, I frantically googled to try and learn how to sell wholesale.

Fun Club was not my only foray into running a business though. In 2010 (ish), I owned a company called Kites and Metal. Kites and Metal was an online retail store that sold jewelry. I both made jewelry and bought it wholesale from other vendors. This company was a massive and epic failure. I never thought I would run a business again!

Since I had a business failure under my belt already, I never really thought Fun Club could be anything more than a side gig. I sold balloons, eventually adding greeting cards and some other fun products, while I worked full time for about another 18 months.

In 2016/2017, I was faced with a decision. The company had gotten to where I could no longer operate it part time. It was either shut Fun Club down, or go all in. 

So, I jumped! Yes, it was terrifying. Yes, I made almost no money at first. All the things you are scared about? I was scared too. But, having made the decision, I can tell you- it's far scarier to not take a risk and end up doing something you love.
